STORM WATER PUMP TANKS OR GROSS POLLUTANT TRAPS
SEMI SOLID, LIQUID AND DRY WASTE

Suttons has the ability and licences to remove and dispose of various types of waste such as Bio Solids and soil polluted with fuel, chemicals, solvents and old cattle dip run off containing arsenic. All waste is taken to DES (Department of Environment and Science) approved disposal facilities where the waste is recycled or treated.
Our Tipper is designed especially with sealed tailgates and covers to transport semi solid and solid contaminated waste or soils and an Excavator and Skid Steer Loader to load the waste.
At completion of all regulated waste removal we provide a DES Waste Transport Certificate stating the waste has been transported and disposed of correctly.
If you have any other unique waste to remove please call Suttons discuss your individual requirements.
Storm Water Pump Tank

Storm water pump tanks are found in basements of buildings and car parks; they are engineered to
prevent basements from flooding by collecting water and debris washed down from rain. Rubbish, silt
and dirt are collected in the Tanks and the excess water is pumped to the sewer system. These tanks
need pumping out approximately once a year to help prevent an overflow of rubbish and silt, flooding,
pump break downs and silt and rubbish making its way into the sewer system.

Suttons has a specially designed small truck we call Blow Fly that can access underneath car parks &
buildings to pump and clean the tanks efficiently.
If you would like any further information please contact Suttons Cleaning Service.
Gross Pollutant Traps

Gross Pollutant Traps are located in car parks; they are intended to catch all rubbish, sand & silt from
the car park to prevent the waste making its way into waterways and wetlands. Over time silt and
rubbish build up, requiring the tanks to be pumped out to prevent flooding, pump break downs and an
overflow of waste and rubbish.
Suttons can pump and clean Gross Pollutant Traps with a specially designed truck proficient at pumping
sand and silt sludge.

Pump Tank

Pump tanks are used in various situations to disperse effluent water to the sewer system where the
waste can’t drain into the sewer system efficiently. These pump tanks are typically a small tank under
2,000 litres, made of concrete, fibre glass, or polyethylene with a submersible pump inside. Pump tanks
need frequent cleaning to prevent a build-up of lint and sludge that can affect the life and the reliability
of the pump. The service frequency will depend on the effluent being dispersed through the tank. The
pump technician may advise you on how often the tank requires a periodic pump out.
Always make sure a pump tank is installed where a truck can access to pump out the waste and is
accessible for regular inspections and maintenance.
For pump information please contact the pump manufacture or a qualified pump technician.
